I do it for the music, nothing more, nothing less. I get paid peanuts." That is what DJ Paradoxx., aka Bay does for a hobby. He doesn't consider this a living but does consider this important in his life. "I go to these wack ass clubs and all the DJs do is play off CD's. They don't know how to mix, they don't play the right tracks, and they don't know how to make the crowd jump. This is why I started. Not because they suck, it's because I know I can do better!"

Paradoxx's love for the music started when he was young." I think I was maybe 9 when I heard this tight ass song by some guy called Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby. You may laugh, but back then, that song was the shit. There were all kinds of artists in the 80s which I loved, Paula Abdoul, McHammer, Michael Jackson, etc. etc. They all had something in common, dance music."

Currently Paradoxx is concentrating in getting his name out letting the people know what he can do. "I may not be the best now, but I sure as hell am better than some people. I'm ain't trying to be conceited, just being realistic. Anyone can press 'play' on a cd player and be considered a DJ. In time anyone can learn how to mix. What makes you a DJ, is what you play and importantly, how you play it."

Paradoxx will be judging the Guitar Center amateur DJ contest at the Edina Store starting every Tuesdays starting May 14th till June 5th. Guitar Center hosts the biggest amateur DJ contest in the nation. If you would like to join, just sign up at Guitar Center nearest you.
